A Quiet Place - review, spoilers

I have 4 words about this movie: i got SO SCARED! 

Lately, I can't sit still through a scary movie anymore, no matter the type. I get really absorbed into the action, and then anxious, sometimes to the paranoid level. And of course all other related and not fun jazz.

It was A's birthday today - April 14th, so we had to do something fun. Going to the movies IS fun.

Before I start, I have to warn you there won't be major spoilers this time because the movie is new, still playing and some of you might not want to be spoiled. If you want to read spoilers, I'm sure there are many other sites and blogs offering just this.

Let's just say that if you saw the movie Alien you'd have a little deja-vu sensation because of the monsters. 

Another deja-vu will come from the music and sounds played during the more intense scenes, when something tragic, scary, important happens. Almost all horror movies lately use the same sounds at the same moments - probably because they work in bringing the desired results, that of making the audience scared.

Of course, characters do die, as expected. Sadly one of the deaths could easily have been avoided. But I guess it was meant to help the other characters become stronger. The death of this character is also predicted or hinted at, just a few moments before it happens. 

the movie has a sudden ending that can confuse some people, as it did me. Our theater also turned the lights on at the same time, confusing me further. [I have no idea if they do this everywhere, or just because it was the last show for the night.]

I can't say I liked or disliked the movie as I would have to spoil it more than I did, and I want you to go see it.
