Flower of Evil -Korean drama review, spoilers

Ah! hi there! Flower of Evil is one of the best Korean dramas of 2020. I believe I watched it as it was made available with English subs on one of those sites that do this kind of thing. In the Flower of Evil, we re-meet Moon Chae-Won and Lee Joon-Gi who played together in Criminal Minds . This link will take you to the page where I spoke about this drama. Flower of Evil has plenty of suspense, secrets that will be revealed, and most annoyingly, a disappointing ending. Out of the 16 episodes, whenever I think of this drama, I choose to ignore the last one. But this is enough spoilers without the...

Final Recipe (2013) - review, spoilers

Hi all! It seems I was hit with new ideas for this blog: writing my impressions on movies or series I watch, books I read, and .. well, I don't play video games. This is a movie from 2013 and it's a South Korean and Thai production. This is a drama about growing up, family reuniting, and it has a happy ending. There are also a couple of more funny scenes, but comedy isn't on the menu of this movie - see what I did there? I watched a version dubbed in Chinese [most likely Mandarin, but I can't be sure at this point], though originally English was also spoken in the movie. The movie was also subbed...

The House of the Disappeared (2017)- opinions and review

Hello there! Do you know I like to watch horror movies? at least I used to. The last one I saw (when i first wrote this entry, maybe in 2018?) was The House of the Disappeared, a South Korean mystery thriller, released earlier this year. The main actress is Kim Yun-jin who you might have seen in the TV series Lost. Apparently, the original title translates to House Above Time, and I personally think it would have been a better choice as an English title as well. Both translations give indications to what the movie is about, though the original tells exactly why things happened. I guess I spoiled...

Fantasy Island (2020) - critique and spoilers

Hi all! Today we take a look at a movie, after quite a bit of time. This post first appeared sometime in 2020 on the old site/platform. Just because it's quarantine time due to the virus (in mid April when i started writing this), doesn't mean we can't watch movies anymore. So, we watched Fantasy Island, and I have opinions (who nobody asked for, of course). I only recognized 2 actresses in this supernatural horror, Maggie Q (as Gwen Olsen). and Lucy Hale (as Melanie Cole), and one actor, Michael Rooker (as Damon). I actually wouldn't really call it horror, but a thriller for i didn't get scared...

Flying Swords of Dragon Gate - review

Hello again! I like movies with kung-fu fighting scenes, so no wonder I watched Flying Swords of Dragon Gate. You can also read more about this movie in the Wikipedia page i just linked. This is a movie from 2011 featuring Jet Li, as you can see in the poster below. Apparently, this movie is part of a trilogy, and I have yet to watch the other 2 movies. Poster for Flying Swords of Dragon Gate. not my image. I must say my notes on this movie are all over the place, but I will try my best to put my thoughts in order for this post. In any case, you'll walk into spoilers from this point onward. I'm...

Typewriter - (series on Netflix) opinions and review

Guys! Guys! You probably know of Bollywood, India's movie industry. Guys! Typewriter is an Indian show, made for Netflix and if you like ghosts, I URGE you right now to go watch it. Marathon style! I don't want to spoil you too much, so i'll try not to while talking about it. However, this webserie is really good, perfect to watch before or around Halloween, since there are ghosts involved. What can I say is that the spoilers are below the image and I'll try not to be too detailed, but I have to talk about it. I repeat myself because I finished watching it last night and I liked every second of...

What's going on in Yashahime? (season 1)

Many people must remember the manga and anime, Inuyasha that ran from late 1990s until late 2000s. It now has a sequel called Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon that just started airing. And this sequel makes almost NO sense. AT ALL. At this point, there are plot holes and many, many questions awaiting an answer. I came up with some ideas and will present them here. Along with the questions and plot holes. Now, this is where spoilers will come into place so read on at your own risk. Who and Where Are the Parents? This anime has 3 main characters: Moroha, Setsuna, and Towa. Moroha is the daughter of...

Angels by Marian Keyes

Hello, world! Today is the day I post another book review. A recent book I read is called Angels and is written by Marian Keyes. ... And let me tell you from the start that this title couldn't be more misleading. Click-bait much? I'm so unhappy with this book, I don't even know what to start with. Spoilers ahead? Yeah.. spoilers. The story is told from Maggie's point of view, making her the main character. She and her husband Garv live in Ireland, and despite being married for some time now, she's not as happy as she's like to be. One evening she discovers by accident that Garv has an affair, and...
